Eunice

Eunice has been working at Vhutshilo Mountain School since the day they started building the school. She lives next door and when she saw the builders she went and asked for a job, and helped by mixing cement and making bricks. After the school was built, she was offered employment at the school. Her main jobs now are cooking, cleaning and keeping records of the kitchen stock. She also helps to manage the second hand clothes kiosk which is open one day a week. As she lives next door her and her family keep a security eye on the school and she locks up and opens in the morning.

Eunice has 6 children. Her husband had a good job working for the government but unfortunately he passed away. Eunice lives with three of her own children and one granddaughter who also attends Vhutshilo Mountain School. She managed to send 3 of the children to tertiary education institutions: two have completed their degrees and one will finsh at the end of the year. While working at Vhutshilo she has managed to greatly improve her living conditions: from a one room to a four room house,  which she is very proud of.
